Sunday morning I got this shot of a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird taking his breakfast outside my kitchen window. He and his brethren are on their way to the northern reaches of the world to mate and raise their families before returning to the islands for the winter. Beautiful!
(P.S. I need a better camera!)

Sally~ That is awesome! You must have been quick to catch her sitting still.
Sandi - He'd been at the feeder all morning. I camped out by the window and just took shot after shot if him when he landed. This is the best one. I love these birds!
wow I have never seen one before!
Cool photo. How lucky are you to have them outside your window.
You don't have hummingbirds in Italy Ilva?!! Now I wish I'd have gotten a better shot on him. Dang! I need a camera that can take close-ups and quickly. He doesn't sit still for very long. I'll try to get a better shot.
Hi Sally - Yep, I love my kitchen windows!
Sally, after talking to you on Saturday about the hummers, I went home and filled my feeder...they were all over it in no time! I haven't caught a glimpse of a male yet, but I'm hoping to before they head north! Thanks for the advice about them and for the great time in your back yard Saturday! I've always loved sitting in your yard!
Hey Glenda! Yea, it was nice, wasn't it. I miss sitting and chatting with you in the back yard.
Great pic of the hummer, mine have all been a blur so far, but I keep trying.
